Jackie Christie Speaks on Basketball Wives VS Single NBA Girlfriends
Reality shows are never lacking in drama, fights and unexpected twists. One minute people are getting along and the next, there are drinks flying everywhere, insults being hurled every which way, and virgin hair extensions being flung all over the place. That is what people want to watch, and undoubtedly, the reason they tune to VH1 faithfully to watch Basketball Wives LA. If you have watched the show, then you know that there’s been a lot of backlash on Single NBA girlfriends.
Jackie Christie Says It’s All about Love and Respect
According to Jackie Christie, wife of retired basketball star Doug Christie, and a cast member of the famed reality show, this shouldn’t be an issue to spark a debate. Jackie believes that it isn’t her place to judge. She stated in an interview with S2S Magazine that if people are in a relationship and they…:
“…love and respect each other and communicate well and their relationship is flourishing, then that’s fine.”
Jackie, unlike her fellow reality show cast mates, has had long-lasting marriage since 1996. The other women are either just dating basketball players or are single NBA girlfriends. One of the other cast members, Draya Michele, has often gotten into several verbal altercations with fellow cast mates due to the fact that she has never been married.
Jackie went on to state that they are just trying to be with their mates and find their own ways. As Mrs. Christie puts it:
“More power to everyone.”
Does Jackie Have Something Against Single NBA Girlfriends, or Just Brittish Williams?
Despite claims of not having an issue with her cast mates who are single NBA girlfriends, Jackie Christie seems to be on a mission to turn everyone against Draya. In a past interview on the Arsenio Hall Show, Arsenio asked Basketball Wives LA cast mate Brittish Williams what profession Draya was in before the show. To this, the NBA girlfriend responded, “an exotic dancer.” This may be true, but her virgin hair extensions always seem to look amazing.
Jackie interrupted by saying that was a “Nice way to put it.” She added that this season, “We will see exactly what she does and what she came from.”
There seems to have been bad blood between the two ever since Draya came into the scene. And, most of the animosity seems to have been brought on by Jackie. So, whether or not her statements about not worrying if the women on the show are single are true, or she simply doesn’t like Draya as a person, is still a mystery.

One Cast Mate of Basketball Wives LA Makes the Switch
Recently, her only remaining married cast mate, Malaysia Pargo, divorced Charlotte Hornets basketball star, Jannero Pargo, after 8 years of marriage. Malaysia cited “irreconcilable differences” as her reason. She is seeking sole custody of their children, with visitation rights for Jannero. The ex-Mrs. Pargo is also asking for spousal support, as well as full payment of all her lawyers’ fees.
Malaysia and her husband apparently had some beef going on Twitter back in January. But, they seem to have moved on from that and are now cordial. According to sources, there had been trouble in paradise for a while, as the Pargos had been separated since December 2012.
