The talented singer called simply Aaliyah, was best known for her music and dance moves. But, she was also known for her movies. She acted alongside Jet Li in Romeo Must Die and Stuart Townsend in the movie adaptation of Anne Rice’s best selling novel Queen of The Damned.

One thing about Aaliyah that makes her still so relevant today: She was always ahead of her time. That might be why her music is still playing on the radio airwaves and online. That might also be why her movies still playing on cable TV and in select theaters. In fact, Lifetime just released their controversial biopic Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B.

Why the controversy? Well, this biopic is based on the biography written by Christop\her Farley, who had no connection to Aaliyah whatsoever. Yet, it was still published in the Times. However, this biopic has failed to receive input or support from the family Aaliyah left behind.

Although they’ve done their best to protect her name and legacy by keeping her music out of Lifetime’s hands, people are annoyed by the outcome of the movie itself. According to FB posts, tweets and other social media stats, the movie “sucked”!
