Is a vegan diet the new key to aging well? It’s always been said that black women age well. Some may call it an old wive’s tale. Some say it’s a mere stereotype.
Others believe the proof is in the reflections of generations of black women, who looked quite young for their ages. Many of us have seen vintage pictures of great-great grandmothers and aunts, who were simply gorgeous at 50, 60 even 80 years old.
Which brings us to 72-year old vegan, Annette Larkins, a current Miami, Florida resident, born in 1942. The mother of two 50s-something men has been happily married to Amos Larkins, Jr. for 56 years. She’s also the manufacturer of “The Little Chef’s”, a salad dressing that was once very popular in health food stores.
She didn’t have the passion needed to make the salad dressing a major success. However, she continued having a desire to help other people learn how to achieve healthy lifestyles. That’s how, “Annette’s Raw Kitchen”, Larkins’ self-produced DVD was born.
